Dr. Tasneem Zehra

Welcome to the Department of Basic Sciences, & Humanities (BS&H) at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Karachi. Basic Sciences, & Humanities Department has been an integral part of the institution since the beginning. It consists of following disciplines: Chemistry, Physics, English, Pakistan and Ethics/Islamic Studies. The department has well equipped labs
The department fulfills the needs of fundamental knowledge in the mentioned disciplines by teaching optional and compulsory courses in various engineering programs offered at DUET, Karachi. These subjects contribute almost one fourth of the entire engineering curricula at undergraduate level and fulfill HEC and PEC requirements.
The department also offers two programs, (i) B.S. in Chemistry and (ii) MS/M.Phil. in Industrial Chemistry. These programs aim to provide students an opportunity to become a Chemist and contribute towards the scientific world.
The department currently has 22 highly qualified faculty members and 9 non-teaching staff. This includes 6 PhD holders and 16 postgraduates with 7 of them pursuing their doctoral degrees. The faculty members keep themselves updated with new developments by engaging in research activities in their respective fields. They have a good number of publications in reputed journals in their credits. Our faculty members are dedicated to provide an excellent learning experience and serving the institution and society.
